Ms. Kaufman is a senior associate focusing on First Amendment, media, product disparagement, publicity and privacy rights, and crisis management. She also has extensive experience as a business litigator.
Before Ms. Kaufman joined Glassman Browning, Saltsman & Jacobs, Inc., she was a senior associate at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP from 1998-2010. She has litigated cases involving numerous industries, including: banking; insurance; construction; real estate; hi-technology; and, industrial manufacturing. Ms. Kaufman's cases have ranged in issues from commercial contracts, fraudulent transfer, bond default, insolvency, securities law, product liability, government contracts, environmental, insurance, intellectual property and real property. Ms. Kaufman worked for several years defending a national bank in a complex securities fraud class action resulting in a highly favorable settlement. Representing institutional plaintiffs, she served as lead associate in a significant fraudulent transfer lawsuit before the United States District Court and Bankruptcy Court that lead to a $17 million settlement recovery. She also has extensive experience defending asbestos and silica claims—Ms. Kaufman has successfully defended over 40 asbestos and silica cases in northern and southern California on behalf of manufacturers of industrial tools and equipment. Ms. Kaufman also has conducted internal investigations, including on behalf of a government entity relating to whistleblower claims and criminal activity.
